Our ideal candidate

We’re looking for a senior general insurance actuary with experience to support a range of actuarial engagements, preferably with a background in consulting. You’ll be welcomed into a setting that centres on flexibility, individual value and working together, while having the opportunity to make your own mark. As for location, you’ll be based in Australia, with ability to travel to our offices in Sydney and Melbourne.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll:

  • Work closely with Principals and Directors internally, as well as take part in business development, establishing your own network with new and existing clients
  • Lead and actively contribute to client projects and sub-projects
  • Contribute to tender processes
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities with established and new clients
  • Mentor and coach consultants
  • Build strong relationships at peer and senior levels in client businesses.

About you

You’re a creative problem solver and commercially astute. You’re keen to contribute your expertise and fresh ideas, which include:

  • Understanding of and experience in actuarial modelling and analytical techniques
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex technical data, with high attention to detail
  • Experience leading projects or streams of work
  • Experience leading people, and enthusiasm for sharing your knowledge and training team members
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage confidently with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Ability to focus on the client and take the time to form deep client relationships, listen to client needs, and provide advice and solutions that meet their objectives
  • A passion for making a difference using data.
